Apply Online CUNY Intern Program

Building from the success of the former IT Specialists Internship Program, CUNY Internship Programs is expanding our relationships with New York City agencies to include internships in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).  For over a decade, numerous interns have been hired by their agencies through this program, some moving into leadership positions where they oversee current CUNY interns.

We also maintain our long-standing partnerships with two other important New York City entities—NYC 311 and the NYCHA Customer Contact Center.  Interns work as call takers at these two critically important call centers.

Students who are part of CUNY Internship Programs gain valuable experience working to help their fellow New Yorkers, as well as becoming part of the future of NYC’s workforce.

Apply For An Internship or Fellowship

Joining our internship program is easy but first be sure you meet the following requirements.

  • You must be a currently enrolled CUNY student
  • You should have taken at least two semesters of courses pertaining to your major
  • You must be able to legally work in the United States
  • Your schedule should allow you to work a minimum of 15 hours per week

Interns are able to participate in the program for up to three years or six months after graduation, whichever comes first. This is pending you maintain enrollment in a CUNY school.

Once you establish that you meet all of the requirements you should register for a CUNY Internship Programs Symplicity account (even if you already have a Symplicity account for your school).
