Accounting Intern

Looking for a summer internship with flexible hours? Join a cause-driven organization and help make a positive impact in our community as the La Crosse Area Family YMCA Accounting Intern and gain experience working for a non-profit organization. Responsibilities include daily financial and accounting tasks, as well as general assistance of the Business Office.

The ideal candidate would be working towards completing a major in accounting, finance, business management, or other applicable field of study. Candidates should have strong communication and organizational skills.

Arts & Humanities Internship

Are you passionate about the arts and want to increase your knowledge of arts administration and programming? The Y offers high quality arts programming with educated instructors in a fun atmosphere. Programs include dance, martial arts, music, and fine arts. Our Arts Intern will assist with planning & implementing special events including national Y Arts Week, Martial Arts Tournament, and Music and Dance recitals. Other responsibilities include volunteer recruitment, records management, member communication, promotion, and implementing Y-USA resources into programs.

The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a degree program in management, communications, or other applicable field of study. Candidates should be energetic, self-directed, organized, have strong communication skills. An interest in building relationships with others and creating a welcoming environment is essential.

This is an unpaid part-time internship working 10-20 hours per week a varying schedule.

Graphic Design Internship

Majors: Graphic Design, Web Design, Marketing
Duration: Semester or Full Year. Part Time (15-20) or Full Time (35-40).

Join a cause-driven organization and help make a positive impact in our community as the YMCA Graphic Design Intern. Responsibilities include creating digital and print ads, large print posters, interior signage, social media graphics, website graphics, posters/flyers for all Y departments and more. A focus of the content created will be impact/story driven, helping our community reach their health and wellness goals.

Candidates should have a background in Graphic Design, including experience with the Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign.

This is an unpaid internship with flexible working hours, potentially working some weekend events. Start date will vary based on semester and can be a part-time or full-time internship that is a semester or full year in length. Our Marketing Department oversees three Y facilities, 23,000 Y members and 600+ employees.

Human Resources Internship

The La Crosse Area Family YMCA is currently looking for a Human Resources Intern to assist with the Human Resources Department. Candidates will gain experience working for a non-profit organization and learning the day to day duties within an HR department. We will work together to help the candidate get the experience they need within their field. Candidates must be going to school for Human Resources or a related field, have database management, record keeping, and Microsoft Office experience. Candidates must have excellent communication skills. This is an unpaid internship but you will gain work and leadership experience. Information Technology Internship

Majors: IT-Computer Support, IT-Network Systems, IT-Database Duration: Semester or Full Year. Part Time (12-20hrs).
Join a cause-driven organization and help make a positive impact in our community as the YMCA IT Intern. Responsibilities include assisting with break/fix resolution, new computer deployment, new user setup, imaging, network infrastructure install, end user training, AV equipment support, and phone system changes for all Y departments and more. Our IT Department oversees three Y facilities and 600+ employees. You will gain experience in all areas of Information Technology.Candidates should have a background in Information Technology, be ready to impact the community, and be willing to learn.
This is an unpaid internship with flexible working hours during normal business hours. Start date will vary based on semester and can be a part-time internship that is a semester or full year in length. Marketing & Social Media Internship

The Y is looking for a cause-driven leader with a passion to serve others, better the community and make a positive impact. If you feel compelled to give back and support others, consider joining our Marketing & Communication team! Responsibilities include assisting the La Crosse Area Family YMCA in communicating important events and information to members via a monthly eNewsletter, updating content on the Y’s website, creating posters and flyers using Microsoft Publisher and assisting Y Directors with their marketing needs. Managing the social media pages and developing additional pages on some of the newest platforms. This is an unpaid internship with flexible working hours, potentially working some weekend events. Start date will vary based on semester and can be a part-time or full-time internship that can be a semester or full year in length. Gymnastics Internship

The Y is looking for a friendly, motivated and organized intern for the summer to assist with and learn about the Y’s Gymnastics program. You will work along side our Gymnastics Program Director to help ensure that programs are running smoothly and assist with any meets or events the gymanstics team has. Teen Center Internship

Engage youth while attending drop-in hours, providing outreach, tutoring, teaching specific
skills such as art or music lessons, and/or other special projects as arranged. Additional
