Summer Interns
Each summer we welcome interns from across the country to participate in our 10 week long paid internship program at our Home Office at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia. Interns will have hands on experience in the day to day life at our corporate headquarters. In addition to immersing themselves in the URBN culture, our program offers off site field trips, executive meet and greets, and brand events highlighting our company initiatives.
Buying Intern
- Attend important buying meetings regarding product selection, design, and style
- Support the daily operations within designated buying area and develop partnerships with the assistant or associate buyer on all necessary tasks
- Brainstorm and research new products and trends
- Managing the flow of merchandise
- Opportunities in Apparel and Accessories –
Qualifications
- Strong communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize projects and multitask
- Rudimentary understanding of retail math
- Detail oriented
- Creative thinker
- Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Retail experience preferred
Home Stylist Intern
- Attend Friday product handoff
- Friday/Monday: Product Prep
- Steam textiles – bedding, curtains, tapestries, rugs, and other decorative textiles (all textiles must be prepped and finished by Tuesday morning)
- Prep novelties – ex: make balloon animals, color coloring books, etc.
- Tech research – ex: download apps, watch instructional videos, charge products, take/print photos, etc.
- Prep decorate samples – ex: pot plants, remove stickers, frame photos, etc
- Organize product for the week based on sets
- Assist Studio Manager with marking furniture/props that will go back to 611, B7, or B3
- Daily
- Assist stylist with setting up and breaking down sets,
- Assist team w/ studio organization by keeping prop areas tidy and aisles clear.
- Weekly
- Patch & Paint Walls
- Assist with packing for editorial shoots
- Plant care – refer to water/fertilizer schedule.
- Assist team with running samples.
- Assist team with projects as needed (ie. file organization, inspirational imagery searches, building backdrops, etc)
