If you are currently a university-level student and are looking to acquire your first experience in banking, finance or insurance Societe Generale may be the place for you. Depending on the country you are in, we provide internships, work-study positions and work experience programmes.

Long-term Internships

We offer internships lasting from six months to one year. They are available throughout all our business divisions and locations for current students and recent graduates. The goal of these internships is to provide you with valuable professional experience that will help increase your chances of employment later on.

Your internship will give you the opportunity to reveal your potential and demonstrate your commitment. You will have the chance to observe and participate, ask questions and receive advice from experienced professionals. You will be given a detailed appraisal at the end of your internship.

Summer internships in Corporate and Investment Banking

Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Banking (SG CIB) offers summer internships in London and New York during your penultimate year of study. These last between 10 and 12 weeks and provide you with the opportunity to broaden your knowledge and develop your skills. They combine both classroom and on-the-job training, networking and hands-on experience. They can facilitate your entry into the industry and hopefully will strengthen your will to join us after your graduation.

Work-study positions

As part of our efforts to build a highly diverse workforce and support the professional development of young people, we provide work-study positions for students and recent school leavers. These positions are an excellent way to acquire solid professional experience and to help you pay for your studies.

SUMMER INTERNSHIPS

In your penultimate year of studies, you feel that the world of banking is right for you. But you need to be sure of your choice by gaining exposure to the day-to-day workings of the industry.

Our summer internships, which last between 10 and 12 weeks, take place mainly in London and New York. They will provide you the opportunity both to learn and to demonstrate your strengths and skills. Combining training (both classroom based and on the job), networking and hands-on experience, these internships can facilitate your entry into the industry if you decide this is where you wish to be.
We recruit our summer internships almost a full year in advance of the internship start date.

Selection criteria

The minimum requirements you must meet to be considered for a summer internship are:

  • Be in your penultimate year of studies from a university, business or engineering school
  • Have an excellent academic record
  • Be fluent in English and other languages as requested for the internship you apply for
  • Have the technical and soft skills specified in the job you apply for, including strong numeracy skills
  • Be potentially interested in having an international career
