An internship with the DOE offers you the opportunity to gain experience in the field of public education, while working for one of the most dynamic agencies in New York City.

The Organizational Development Unit (ODU), within the Division of Human Resources, leads the Employee Engagement & Development Initiative (EE&D), a department-wide effort to provide organizational development and culture programs and services to 7,000 Central, Field, and Superintendent Offices and its employees

ODU is seeking interns to support current program and event offerings within the areas of professional learning and employee engagement. The intern will work with program managers to provide administrative, logistical, and strategic planning and support. The intern will support the program implementation planning and creation of program materials and communications in the SY2017-18. As part of the project, the day-to-day work will also include project management, communications roll out, and planning event support.

Duration: October 16 – June 29, 2018

Time requirement: At least 20 (max 30) hours per week with a minimum commitment of 12 weeks; Flexible weekday hours.

Compensation: $20.00 per hour

Please note:

  • Fall Program dates are October 16 – December 20, 2017
  • Spring Program dates are January 8 – June 29, 2018
  • Interns will need to complete a fingerprinting and background check prior to beginning the program. The fingerprinting fee is $135.
