EXPLORE GUARDIAN’S INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Spend Your Time Gaining Skills That Matter

Some experiences yield more learning than others and have a longer lasting impact. The Guardian Internship Program is a 10-week paid engagement where interns are immersed in the daily environment of a thriving Fortune 250 company. You’ll network with peer interns, interact with executive leadership and make meaningful contributions to actual business projects.

From the beginning, you’ll set goals and receive training that will enable you to meet those goals. As the program progresses, you will work with managers and your team to learn the inner workings of an industry-leading company. By the program’s end, you will have gained an understanding of core functions performed by one or more business lines, as well as a macro view of the enterprise as a whole.

You will be immersed in Guardian’s culture of respect, high standards and fairness, where collaboration is actively encouraged. Our mission, now and into the future, is to grow our business in an ethical, profitable, and sustainable way. Our Internship Program ensures your introduction to Guardian corporate careers and will have a lasting benefit in launching your future.

AREAS YOU CAN IMPACT

Business areas that participate in the program include: Communications, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Legal, Marketing/Product, Operations, Project Management, Real Estate, Sales, Technology, Underwriting, and more.

We may even be able to customize your experience if your interests run across multiple categories.

Communications

Put your communications skills to use by getting exposure to all aspects of Corporate Communications. Learn how to build awareness of Guardian’s brand, vision, products, and services externally and internally by delivering campaigns and messages through various channels, including PR, social media, digital communications, and leadership meetings, inside and outside of the company.

Finance and Accounting

Take advantage of this unique opportunity to develop your technical skills with tools such as Visual Basic Applications, Essbase, Powerpoint, Excel, and project management while immersing yourself in a variety of financial tasks. Projects you will work on include financial modeling, planning, budgeting & expense allocations, and various analytics/reporting.

Human Resources

Put the “human” in Human Resources by contributing to areas such as Benefits, Compensation, Talent, or Recruiting.

Legal

Take the opportunity as a rising 3L to work on legal issues that affect a Fortune 250 Company. Gain exposure to litigation, corporate investments, contract negotiation, compliance, and an array of other legal areas that our in-house attorneys address every day.

Marketing and Product

Marketing and product are a crucial part of our business. Gain experience at Guardian by taking part in projects such as developing product training content and assisting in budget estimation and stakeholder communications as part of the product management process.

Operations

Interning in Operations at Guardian is an opportunity to learn about everything from mergers and acquisitions to the best way to gather statistical data. You will learn new tools like Advanced Excel, all while being a part of the Guardian family.

Real Estate and Architecture

Work in a variety of areas from Real Estate and Space Planning to Vendor Management and Analysis. Get involved in projects that involve taking a further look into data specific to your area. These projects include creating Real Estate budgets for regional office locations, analyzing data to find where Guardian can become more efficient with our finances, and working on updating floor plans in CAD for a variety of locations.

Technology

A Technology internship with Guardian means getting hands-on experience and access to cutting-edge technology from across a broad range of disciplines spanning security, cloud, data, networks, mobile, development, testing, project management, and more. Our interns have designed and built Mobile, Web, hyper-converged DevOps labs, data-visualization dashboards to assist senior leadership, custom enterprise-wide applications, and have even gotten hands-on with the most cutting edge virtual reality technology: The Oculus Rift.
