Our interns are a part of Google—involved and solving problems from the start. As a technical intern, you are excited about tackling the hard problems in technology. With internships across the globe, ranging from Software Engineering to User Experience, we offer many opportunities to grow with us. The internships below are not exhaustive, but provide a taste of what’s available.
Software Engineering Internship
Software Engineering internships are available throughout the globe to undergraduate and graduate/PhD students, with rolling application dates (depending on location). Our interns have a broad set of technical skills, enabling them to tackle some of technology’s greatest challenges.
Engineering Practicum
Our Engineering Practicum program is a developmental opportunity for first- and second-year undergraduate students with a passion for technology—especially students from historically underrepresented groups in the field. Applications open in October.
STEP (Summer Trainee Engineering Program) Internship
Available outside of North America, STEP is a development program that is focused on students that have a passion for technology. Requirements and application dates vary by location.
User Experience Internship
Interns in our various User Experience internships have the opportunity to affect billions of users and develop their skills. Application dates and requirements vary according to location.
Associate Product Manager Internship
Our interns bridge technical and business worlds, designing technologies with engineers and then zooming out to lead matrix teams such as Sales, Marketing and Finance, to name a few. The internship is available globally, with varying requirements and application dates.
Mechanical Engineering Internship
Interns join our world-class teams where they are involved in design and analysis. The Mechanical Engineering internship is open to full-time, degree-seeking students in a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD program in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field, and applications open in January.
Hardware Engineering Internship
Our Hardware Engineering interns work cross-functionally and gain valuable experience. The internship is open to full-time, degree-seeking students pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on system design. Applications open in January.

Business interns come from all backgrounds, bring their diverse talents to drive the business, grow our people, and put the user before all else. The internships below are not exhaustive, but provide a taste of what’s available.
Business Internship
Business internships include multiple teams and roles within the business world at Google. Available outside of the United States, the internship program is for undergraduate and graduate students, with qualifications and application dates varying by location
MBA Internship
Our MBA internships are offered throughout the globe, and interns are able to put their education to use on day one. Available to students currently enrolled in an MBA program (with specific requirements tied to the internship location, and applications open in September and October).
BOLD Internship
BOLD interns join teams across Sales, Marketing and People Operations to identify challenges, collaborate on building solutions, and drive meaningful change for clients and users—all while developing skills and building careers. Applications open in October for rising undergraduate seniors.
Legal Internship
Offered in certain countries outside of North America, the Legal Internship is open to students majoring or specializing in legal studies. Applications generally open in October.
gCareer Internship
A unique opportunity for anyone with 4 years of experience in sales, service delivery, marketing, digital advertising, or project management who are on a career break, the gCareer program is offered outside of North America with rolling application dates.
