Summer 2017 Undergraduate Internship
Best Buy internship program is an 11-12 week paid experience at our corporate headquarters in Richfield, MN, a short 15 minute drive from downtown Minneapolis. As an intern at Best Buy, we set you up for long-term success. You will be part of a strong community and encouraging team. You will strengthen many of the skills you have learned in school and learn new skills necessary for your role resulting in an excellent launching pad for the rest of your career. The Procurement Internship program provides an outstanding opportunity to understand and influence our business, learn company systems, and enhance your technical knowledge, analytical lens and communication skills. The Procurement Team is responsible for sourcing all of the goods not for resale (GNFR) for Best Buy. The team is fast-paced and works with a variety of suppliers and internal customers. As a Procurement Intern, you will primarily be responsible for participating in the 7 step sourcing process. You will work cross functionally with business teams, participate in meetings, share communication, and work on high profile category projects.
Potential internship projects:
- RFX (request for: proposals, information, quote, etc.)
- Category spend analysis and strategy
- Selection of suppliers
- Supplier set-up
ABOUT YOU:
As an ideal candidate for this internship, you plan to graduate from a 4-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in December 2017 or May 2018.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3.0 GPA or above
- Strong analytical skills
- Time management skills
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and analytical tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work individually and in a team environment across functional groups
- Ability to generate results in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
