Interns will support company’s international market efforts

VAN WERT, Ohio – Advanced Biological Marketing (ABM) is participating in The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business’ Export Internship Program, which pairs small and medium-sized Ohio companies with undergraduate students for internships. In addition, the company is partnering with the University of North Carolina at Greensboro Bryan School of Business and Economics to support two visiting scholars with internships.

The interns will support ABM’s expansion into international markets, focusing primarily on Africa, through market research, international order processing and the completion of export documentation. They will also engage in customer support for international buyers.

Emily Hagenmaier of Dayton, Ohio is a senior at The Ohio State University and will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in International Business with a minor in Entrepreneurship.

Noha Sayed Khalifa is from Egypt and is attending the University of North Carolina at Greensboro as a visiting scholar. She received her Ph.D. in plant molecular genetics at Illinois State University and has studied at institutions throughout the Middle East. She plans to return to Egypt once the ABM internship is complete.

Khaled El-Baghdady is a University of North Carolina at Greensboro visiting scholar from Cairo, Egypt. He received his Ph.D. in molecular microbiology with a focus on plant development at the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom and has bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and microbiology. This is his first visit to the United States. He also plans to return to Egypt after the ABM internship is complete.

“This is the first year ABM has participated in an internship program and we are thrilled to have Emily, Noha and Khaled working with us this summer,” said Dan Custis, ABM CEO. “Each intern has a specialized background that will benefit ABM as we continue to expand our international market. We look forward to providing our interns with opportunities to strengthen their college education and gain work experience.”

The interns will work at ABM’s corporate headquarters in Van Wert, Ohio as well as their research and development center in Geneva, New York. They will complete their internships in August 2014 with final presentations to their respective universities.
